I finally got Sallie Mae to delete some duplicate trade lines. These lines had been verified by the CRAs and after repeated calls, faxes, etc to SM I finally sent out an intent to sue. In this intent to sue I included a filled out small claims form, and a "complaint" loosely based around Lizard Kings template (thanks!).

They sent me a letter and the UDFs detailing which tradelines were to be deleted. So, anyone else who is dealing with improper reporting on Student Loans, I would advise you to keep records or how they are reporting and then after detailing everything, go for the jugular. It seems to be the only way they'll fix things sometimes.

One other note, just to keep them busy I also requested the original application (from 1995). They actually had it and gave me a copy. So, if anyone is thinking of going the validation route vs Sallie Mae, keep in mind that they seem to keep the apps around for a while.

They HAVE to keep these around-- they had hubbies from 1988.
