Hi all Quick citi 2nd application question: Apllied for and was approved for Citibank Illumina Card 2 wks ago with 4cl (originally 2,8cl - upped to 4K after bt) Want to aplly for aa sliver and then transfer the credit line to the Illumina. Here's the question: I currently have 3 inquiries on my Experian report (that's what they check for me) over the last 6 mos. I have 65% available total credit - my experoan score is currently 677. Can experienced board members give me an educated guess - will i get the card? (and if yes - will it be less cl than the 4K I currently have with citi?) I hate to waste an inquiry. Thanks very much in advance fro any info. Mark LA P.S. Also - is it better - on the online application - to say that I Don't already have a Citi card?
Mark LA, If you have more than 2 accounts with them, they will not approve another one. That's what had happenned to me when I applied for Citi Dividend Card. They took some portion of the credit line from one of my account to open the Citi Dividend. They told me it exceed the number of the accounts with Citibank. Either you convert your current card into that one or they denied your current application. Ron.
anybody? I'm restraining myself from hitting the "submit" button on the citibank online application as I write this... OH the AGONY!!!
ok folks - the results; applied for the aa silver after much agonizing (see above posts) and was approved for the strange amount of $2,100 - however i'm good - the plan is to combine it with the Citibank Illumina i received last week to bring that card to a total cl of 6.1K. At the moment, with all 8 (yikes!) credit cards i have (Bofa, Citi, Chase, Amex, elan financial, generations bank) my total cl is 53K. I hereby declare - with all borad members and guests as my witnesses - that I WILL NOT apply for anymore credit for at least 12 months (may the good lord give me strength - amen thanx all for your help, support and general good will. Mark LA
Mark, LOL! I understand. I'm on the CC wagon as well. I have all the credit I'll ever need now. It's a nice difference from the time when I had two sub-prime cards at $200 each! Congrats...
Thanks Dave and Marci! Yup, Marci i remember the i'm not worthy days when I only had one Bofa card with a 2k limit and called to increase and they told me - sorry your revolving limits are too high - harumph!!! then there was Providian (closed, of course) and then Next Card (creepy, creepy company - closed them too about a year ago) anyhoo - the problem now of course - is to learn how to RESTRAIN. yes, i admit - i too am a credit card online application addict - is there a support group for this condition?
