My hubby and I had a lease with Chase Auto. We just recently converted it over to a purchase. During the paperwork process, we were specifically instructed NOT to make a payment. I even got that request in writing. Well....no big surprise, they reported a 30 day late (minus 40 points). After a couple of phone calls and bouncing around from person to person, I was assured that would be updated to show it was not late and to close the account. Well, today, they did indeed update our reports. It shows the new account (minus 4 pts), but they did not update the old account. It shows that it is still open and still late. ARRGGHHH. I think I am going to start calling 2x a day.....Operation Bug the Crap out of Chase begins!!!!! G
How come they always do things wrong even when it's easier to do it right? I can't believe that all the screw ups are the result of errors. If it was really due to errors there would be more mistakes in our favor instead of nearly all of it being in their favor. The only conclusion is it has to be deliberate falsification >>
I pay my bills via online bill payment (through my local bank). Either (a) I scheduled it for the wrong date or (b) the bank sent it on the wrong date. Regardless, they got my Chase credit card payment 5 days late. With zero proof in hand, I emailed them and said -- hey, you screwed up, credit the $29 late fee and do NOT report a late on my report, or I'll just transfer the balance to another one of my platinum cards that current has 0% on BT. Got an email 10 hours later: We've credited you the $29. We will NOT report any late payments to the CRA. Have a nice day. I love Chase!
John, I have had GREAT service with Chase up until now! They still have not updated. Do you happen to have a name of who you spoke to? Or a number or email address I could try? I am optimistic that they will correct this, I am just getting impatient. ;-) Gillian
