Hi I noticed a sign today while shopping at Kohls that if you had a major credit card you could get their card. Is this true? How does this work? I noticed on the short application it doesnt even ask your salary. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. thank you
They probably run a score request...not a whole credit report, and "pre-authorize" $1.00 to confirm the account is open for the credit card you give. ALSO SAYS "COULD", NOT WILL... USUALLY REQUIRES VISA/MC/DISCOVER/AMEX...you probably wouldn't have one if you didn't have income. It also is PROBABLY like SEARS...(SECURED BY THE MERCHANDISE)...
My husband just got a Kohl's card last week. I wasn't with him and can't ask for the details now because he is asleep (like I should be) . I do know he had to show them his MC, I'm not sure if they ran it through something or not. I applied for another card and they slid my MC through their register, instant decline :<
No reason for decline, letter to come. I asked my husband about Kohl's, he said he didn't think they used his mc, just punched stuff in and made a phone call.
