Here's some insight from their 10k filing... Kind of says it all, huh? Here's what their new account offerings look like: Sign me up for that 35% APR / $150 fee / $300 credit limit card!!!!! Interesting that they have a PR+3.9 ( 8.65%) product ... anyone out there ever seen it? Lastly - re: their relationship with Columbus Bank & Trust... CB&T owns the accounts and sister company Total Systems (TSYS, also controlled & 80% owned by Synovus) does the processing (application, statement/payment processing, etc.). CompuCredit is the "marketer" of the cards. Doesn't sound like a company you'd want to do business with, eh? -mj
GREAT!!! Just what we need...CA's becoming OC's so they can skirt the FDCPA. Good information mj. Those of you new creditnetters (I hate the term "newbies") should follow mj here and avoid this company completely. There are several better sub-prime lenders (search the board) that can HELP you "move on" and improve your credit (in time), rather than compound the problems you had in the past. That is all Aspire will do to you, compound the problems of the past with new ones. -Peace, Dave
REMEMBER - We have confirmed in the past that ASPIRE does not report either - a reasonable offer from a company that wreaks. THX MJ - dogman
I hate to misinform you, Dogman, but Aspire has started reporting atleast my financee's account is reporting as of sometime this year. She's never been late and yes the interest rate is 30% and it has a $1750CL. She used it when the interest was lower for school, and just never got around to paying it completely off because it was low interest. Then it shot up to 30% interest rate right after she got laid off. Minimum payment is like $50. Ouch. Yes they report to atleast Experian for her, she hasn't checked others. I can let you know exactly what they report as if you like, but I think it reports as Columbus Bank & Trust.
jr- we're talking about ASPIRE. Providian killed-off their Aria brand a while back- it's called GetSmart now. They have interest rates that most folks here have gotten down to 16.9% -- which is pretty high, but not so bad if your scores are in the basement. -mj
