My BK has been discharged for about 8 months now. I have written to all my creditors on my credit report and sent them the discharge papers and they still have not changed the status. I have sent letters certified also and still nothing. It is very frustrating when I am trying to rebuild my credit but cant because all my creditors are not showing the BKDISC, they are still showing things like charge off, etc. Please HELP. I don't know what else to do. My lawyer is a complete idiot (and does not return my calls and said it was my responsibility to contact all my creditors once it has been discharged). First of all yes your attorney is an idiot. Second, this may work out in your favor, Stop contacting the creditors and start disputing with the CRA's. It is being reported incorrectly and they will have to delete. You may very well end up with a clean report out of this whole mess. Good Luck.
