When a credit bureau claims to verify a debt, shouldn't the last reported date be changed to the date it was verified. Example: I dispute a debt with a collection agency that my report shows was last reported in 5/98. The credit bureau responds that they verified it in 7/2001. Now shouldn't the date last reported show 7/2001 instead of 5/98?

Mine updated when it got cleared..... But, I'm not sure if that's the case with all of them.

Same here - re date. However, they changed the information I disputed (the balance). Wierd.
