Ok here is my story, maybe someone can offer some encouraging words or ADVICE or anything. I SCREWED my credit at 19 years of age. I was young, dumb, and full of...well you know...anyhow....
I had a repo in 2000 and about 10 neg entries on my reports (charged off credit cards and collection agencies) Well, a few months ago I started down the wonderfull path of FIXING my credit. I managed to get a few deletions nothing major but in the process of contacing all the CRA and verifying my address so I could get a copy of the damn things, well NOW im getting all kinds of collection letters now and my score which dropped my score even worse. It went from a 530 to a 572 (after a few deletions) then I managed to get some crappy high interest card and add another positive entry to the report but I have a lower score. I tried to get an auto loan the other day and that was laughable. My credit wasn't really to blame...it was the Repo in 2000. I was told, with that, it's going to be impossible to get something with low down or resonalbe interest. Regaurdeless of how I improcve my score. So now Im like, WHY BOTHER. Ive managed to go the pasty 4 years on cash only then why bother with my credit now. I really need a good vehicle but i guess im screwed here...any thoughts??????

Have you tackled the repo? Also when I first started all the collections started reporting out of the wood work. You just have to keep at it. Don't give up. I started in the very low 400s in july, I am now in the 500s and 1 600.

First, take a deep breath and relax. You have lived with this issue for a few years and a few more weeks won't kill you.

When attempting to get something deleted, you dispute ANYTHING on the entry that is inaccurate.... Orig bal, open date, repo date, late pay dates, etc. Quite often it is one of these that gets the item deleted.

What in the reporting IS inaccurate? Next, it would be a good idea to dispute this in CHOD. (Creditnetters Holiday Onslaught of Disputes). This is usually the best time to get hard to remove items off your bureau.

Getting new credit always has a negative impact on your score. It is like dropping a pebble in water, not bad, just noticable, until the waves settle and the water is stable again. Just like you, when 3 recent accounts began to report, my score dropped 25 points. On that, only time will heal.

**question to other netters: how long until the points return? ****

Which CRA's is this reporting on?

Also be sure to REMOVE the old address you were at when the Repo took place. Do you owe any money on the repo or is it paid?

    Let us know...

Yes, the report shows me owing 5500 on the truck. Also, upon closer inspection I have 10 neg and 3 positive tradelines. I understand the positive will take some time to show and that i can live with. I only had like 4 credit cards and the rest are colection agency sell offs. (that SUCKS) Also my report (at the top) says something to the effect of total debt owed 6800 bucks. That maynot seem like much but who has 7k laying around. I know the total debt was like 11k. Whats this mean?? Also I have had a few things "verified" by the CRA saying that is was my SOC #. Well NO KRAP, how else would it end up on my report???? How to I fight that??? Also, I had one account (bad) dropped but the collection agency tradeline is still there???? Can't I dispute that??? I apprecaite everyones help. Im drowing over here!!!!!
PS Please excuse the bad grammer, I get worked up easy!!!!!!

Just thinking out loud here. Is Autonation still in business? For some reason, I thought they shut down.

When was the last time they reported?

What I am thinking is this: if they are out of business and the entry is old, you may be able to get it off.

Like I said, just looking for ideas here.

I am not sure what you mean by CA sell off's, but if your talking about what I think your talking about, you might have duplicate listings for the same trade lines on your report. You can dispute these as duplicates, and they come off relatively easy.

    DISPUTE THE REPO!!!!

It's that simple. I had a repo on all three credit reports. I disputed the first time, and they all came off. Just dispute it as not mine or incomplete and tell them you want it removed. It worked for me, mabye it will for you. Good luck!!
