Hi all! I've finally reached the point in my credit repair where I need to hire the big guns. I have three negatives left--a chapter 7 and 2 paid judgments. I will probably retain Lexington or sign up with Junum this weekend and would appreciate updates so I can make an informed decision. Thanks! Carrot
RE: About to hire Lex or Junum Have you disputed the judgements yourself? If so, what reason(s)? What state do you live in? What state were the judgements entered?
RE: About to hire Lex or Junum Hmm. This is not enough information to advise you properly. Is your Chapter 7 just the public record entry or are there numerous creditor records attached? I am using Junum and very pleased with it. I am on my second round of disputing and will be updating the board with the results in March. However, I expect to reach a point later in the year where I am going to spend $1,000 or so to try and delete the last record of my Chap 7 BK by using an Attorney. Lexington comes to mind. I say this because a limited number of BK related items have now been verified on the 3 credit reports despite Junum's efforts. I do not consider Junum to be a "big gun". They are a very efficient service and low cost. They are not attorneys. If I were you, I would post a message here on the board to Jason about your situation. Don't be vague. Ask him for advice about whether he thinks Lexington can help you to delete whatever negatives are on your reports. Since there are 3 CRA's, tell him whether Lex will try to delete 9 items or 30. Whatever you decide, keep us updated here on the board. I hope this helps. P.S. Junum disputed 21 items for me on the 1st round of disputing. 10 items were deleted. As I said, I am convinced that the assistance of an attorney will be required to get rid of some of the 11 that remain. These items are Chap 7 BK related.
RE: About to hire Lex or Junum I disputed them with Equifax last year and they came back verified. I live in Va and the judgments are in Virginia. I thought about trying to dispute them as not mine, but I suspect my SSN is attached to these items. Plus, even if the courts don't verify, the CRAs sometimes use an outside agency that maintains a database of court records (Pat M told me this). What basis did you use to have yours removed?
RE: About to hire Lex or Junum All of my accounts that were included in the BK have fallen off, so there are literally only three negatives I need removed. I don't want to attempt removal of these items myself because Equifax will not reinvestigate once it comes back verified. I figured Lexington may have some expertise in these matters and are likely to be more successful than I would be.
Congrats on your success so fa You are where I expect to be later in the year. At that time, I expect to be contacting Jason here on the board to confirm that Lexington is a suitable firm to try and remove those oh so difficult last remaining verified items. I say this because there have been good and bad reports on Lex here and at the Bayhouse credit forum. Jason appears to have helped set up Lex and he appears to have helped Kelly when she had trouble with Lex. If I go with Lex it will be full service. I believe this costs a $300 retainer fee and $125 a month.
RE: About to hire Lex or Junum Lexington is on the black list at all bureaus as a credit repair company. I know you don't want your credit report flag that will happen if you go to Lexington.
RE: About to hire Lex or Junum I've heard that about Lexington before, but I've also heard that the bureaus will flag an account if they suspect credit repair, even if the consumer is doing it. Seems like you can't win either way...
RE: Congrats on your success s I am wondering if junum can help me or if it's even worth it. I paid that damn dollar charge off I told you guys about and it's still showing unpaid. The other negatives on my cr are the two satisfied judgments which will fall off in October of this year. However, when I went to the auto dealer and tried to buy a new van, not only was the fact that I owe more on the van than what it's worth, but those stupid marks weighed heavily against me. I've told you guys that my score is something like 650. The salesperson said my credit is well above average and below perfect. (heavy sigh) any advice?
RE: About to hire Lex or Junum I HAVE HAD MANY DELETION WITH LEXINGTON.INCLUDED HAVE BEEN 2 BKS DELETED ONLY 3 YEARS OLD, THAT IS GREAT.YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS NO MATTTER WHO YOU USE.I LOT OF PEOPLE GET IN A HURRY AND EXSPECT A MIRICLE IN JUST A MONTH OR 2. BUT THE FACT IS IT TOOK A HELL OF A LOT MORE TIME TO THIS PLACE. AND IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME SO I WOULD SAY LAY OFF LEXINGTON OR WHO EVER AND DEAL WITH THE TIME IT TAKES.
When Lex or Junum dispute on your behalf they don't identify themselves. They do write the letters in a manner that is most likely to get the negative item deleted. I find it hard to believe that there is a scarlet letter on Lexington correspondence that flags your file. Some weeks ago, I chatted with Kelly regarding lexington. She was upset that it took a couple of months for Lex to send dispute letters to the CRA's. The last I heard, Kelly was being given V.I.P. treatment by Lex after Jason intervened.
I don't know the answer to you But if it upsets you to spend $21.95 a month for Junum - don't do it. I have seen some very intelligent writers here on the board who got frustrated with Junum because they either thought the fee was too high or that for the fee miracles would happen. I just take it easy. let Junum do the work and when they can no longer help I will go somewhere else.
RE: About to hire Lex or Junum If you have been following my posts I want to reiterate that the communication problems we were having with lexington's complete retainer service have been resolved to my complete satisfaction. I cannot comment on the success of complete service yet. It hasn't been long enough for any results. If you are considering their eclient service, as I noted in previous posts their communication issues improved dramatically from when my husband first signed up in, I believe, July of 1999 to now. Furthermore, as an eclient we had many deletions due to lextiongton's involvement. The judgments we had fell off our reports after 7 years. My bk was deleted from Experian when I was an eclient. RE: About to hire Lex or Junum Carrot,if you have 2 "PAID" judgements, I would dispute as "not mine". I disputed one three tmes b4 i got it removed.BK is very difficult to disputeas "not mine".I don't know how long u been disputing, but I wud keep waddling right alone and b patient.I did all my disputes on-line and over phone.Didn't write letters,I ws saving that as my last resort. It is a waiting game after disputing,to see what the results are when letters comes. Some people have the nack for these type of things.I surprized the hell out of myself with my dispute results because I come off as a passive and submissive person.Goes to show you how looks can b deceieving.Try disputing yourself again. Then relax, sit back and chill and be optimistic.Meditation can make things happen.
Bobby, you changed your name t He will post later as another name telling you not to pay them but to go to his website instead.
Junum I hired junum for $21 month to continuously chip away at my negatives on my report from the chap 13. They have been at it four about 4 months and I have had 7 negatives removed from the three reports so far. They also added info to my report about my employment history - 17 yrs at same company. Previous reports showed different jobs - but it did not reflect my continuous employment. I have rotated several positions within my company. I like junum. Dogman
RE: About to hire Lex or Junum I have used lexington for about three months. They have deleted about 15 items of of my three reports. They don't respond to E-mail fast, but they do respond. I havn't had any problems with them at all. JH
RE: About to hire Lex or Junum Again, about the red flags - Like Jim said, I find it hard to believe that Lexington or any other company is using company letterhead to dispute for you. Also, there is no law against a individual hiring someone to dispute on their behalf. The same thing the bureaus will do with a letter from you, they do with a letter from Junum or Lexinton, from "you". They MUST verify it or delete it. It's really that simple. Now if they're upset because Junum or Lexington have found ways that make it impossible for them to verify, then tough. I was afraid at first, but I thought, the worst that can happen is that it stays. They're there now so I really don't have anything to lose. I'm giving Junum until August to see results. If I'm satisfied, I'll keep them until they've exhausted all their means. If I'm not, I'll move on.
