    Here's a (hopefully) easy question...

In my credit reports, the entire account numbers are not reported. The last 4 numbers of the account are left off. When I dispute this account with an OC, will they need a complete account number? In many cases, I would think people would only have what is reported by the CRA's. In my letter to the OC, can I just put XXXX for the missing numbers?

    Thanks!

Equifax lists the ENTIRE account #, but if even ONE digit is incorrect is a basis to have it DELETED.

The others should be able to validate with just the entry that is on the report if you use their form(without the add'l #s given).

I thought it was TU that lists the whole account number?

You are right about Transunion, but Equifax also shows the entire account #(except my Amex...which uses a "disguised" acct #....something that just changed).
