Ok, I am no rocket scientist but I don't think one is required here. I disputed this with Experian and they reverified it yesterday. But my question is if I supposedly opened this account in November of 1998 (which I don't recall) then how in the world has this account been reported since February of 1997? So, this Associates Financial can report accounts 22 months before they are open?? Are they really psychics and they know who is going to apply and who will default? And - even better - they can verify them in 2002 as really belonging to someone?? I disputed through Experian, my Equifax has "Not on Record" for the date this account opened. I truly do not think this account is mine. Which way should I go now?
I had the same thing happen with AMEX. The report date is before the open date. Experian told me it's just a tpyo from AMEX. I disputed it last week. I'll see what happens
Well, it's wierd because CRA said it was verified as being correct but the dates didn't change. Also with the other CRA there is no opening date. I don't recall ever having any credit with this company. We'll see.
