Is the status of a collection account supposed to be marked "closed" or "open"? The reason i ask is because i have a TL that has been in collections since 1998, but it has been re-aged to 12/00 and the status says open. thanks in advance!!
-If the creditor sold the account to a collection agency, the "temporary" status could be open and the "new" date if the date it was sold (the date of last activity) BUT, the original charge off date is NOT the same as the date of last activity. THIS IS MORE important than the "status."
