I have been a client of Lexington Law Firm, and am waiting for my results of round 1 (should be here within a week or two). I just checked my mail and found something I wasn't expecting.

I got a letter from a collection agency that says Please be advised that Genesis Financial Solutions, Inc. has purchased the above referenced account previously owned by UNITED CREDIT NATIONAL BANK. To avoid further collection activity, please send your check or money order.....bla bla bla

Lexington was disputing this account (and I have NO idea what it is). It looks like the account was opened 04/96 and status date (from last report) was 01/99.

Is this account going to re-age and start a new 7 years ? do I need to have Lexington dispute this new company now ? Am I totally screwed ???

Draft a validation letter. They will send the generic computer printout, and take it from there.

i have the same problem with Genesis Financial, it is a CA that collects for United Credit National Bank. this was a credit card that got sent out in like 1996-1998 with a stupid program called ACE. it has been a hassle to deal with these people, send them a validation letter (they dont respond after the first so send another after the 30 days) i just sent them an intent to sue letter, lets see what happens.

Should I send the validation letter to the CA or origional creditor ?

Send the validation letter to Genesis.

FYI: UCNB is no longer has credit card accounts (they cancelled their credit card operation, althought their parent company which I cannot remember its name right now is still in business). They sold their good accounts to Household and the bad ones to Genesis. I hope that would make it unlikely that they can provide validation that satisfies the Wollman letter.

Geeezzzz. Genesis Financial Solutions was unable to validate and this was deleted. HOWEVER, several months have gone by, and yesterday I got a letter in the mail stating that "NORTHLAND GROUP INC." has purchased this account, and wants to collect. This was a scam from many years ago. Just when I finally get all my reports clean with ZERO negatives, I get this !
