I called 1-888-5OPT OUT and my score is already up 20 points. Can't believe they shoot themselves in the foot this way - but hey, it's any easy way to raise my score. Most of the offers were for crappy cards I didn't want anyway.
I should mention that if you opt-out with equifax, the notification messes up. that is if you subsribe to the equifax service where they notify you of any changes to your report. It stops working if you put opt-out onto your report.

I tried to tell someone that here and they said they had the creditwatch and opt-out. I was told by Equifax you would not get notifications if you had the opt out active.
