    Hi Board,

Now that my credit is (almost) pristine, I need to get a few seasoned CC accounts back on my credit report. My sister, who shares my last name, has offered to add me as a joint signer on her 10+ year old Amex account. However, before I do this, I have a few quickie questions:

    1) Has anyone done this with AMEX before and, if so, did they add all of the account history when they started reporting?

    2) Who does AMEX pull? I'm in California, my sister is in Colorado. My TU and EX reports are beautiful, however, my EQ report still shows one CC account (paid/closed) with several 90 day lates dating back to 1998.

    Thanks!

She can go ON-LINE and add you..."AU" is fine...you don't have to be added as a "JOINT"...I think you would have to get a "SPECIAL" application and mail it in...and apply for a card as a "JOINT"

You should get the total history back dated...(my son is an "AU" on my BLUE) so he has history before he was 18!!!

The card will be mailed to the "PRIMARY" cardholders address.

Have her meet me at DIA and I will fly it to LAX UNTED TERMINAL 7...

    :)

One of the greatest privileges of your Cardmembership is the ability to share it with family members, friends, or anyone you choose. Add someone to your account, with no annual fee, and let them share the convenience, security, and benefits of Blue, including:

    Blue's low interest rate
    Online Shopping Guarantee
Flexibility Additional Cardmember charges can be paid over time or in full each month

    Share the Convenience
Enjoy peace of mind knowing someone close to you shares the benefits of the Card.
Additional Cardmember charges are itemized and separated on your regular monthly statement.
Share the Security If your Card or the Additional Card is lost or stolen, only that Card needs to be replaced because each Card has its own number.

    Additional Terms and Conditions

1 The Additional Cardmember must be 18 or older, and must never have had a defaulted account with American Express.

2 When you use the American Express Card online, you will not be held responsible for unauthorized charges. You won't even be held responsible for
the first $50 of unauthorized activity which some other credit card issuers might charge.

Thanks George. That was VERY helpful.

I'm still going to try for the "Joint Account" vs. the "Authorized User". Some mortgage lenders won't accept an "AU" account as a real tradeline.

It may be HARD to add a "JOINT" to an existing account...you may have to APPLY for a new "JOINT" account from scratch.

    GOOD LUCK.
