Three months ago I received and have been using a major CC via the help of a cosigner. This is my first major CC in a long time! I cut the last one I owned back in '97! Anyway, I plan to have the CC account history added to all three bureaus (in my name) just as soon as the paper work arrives from the CC Co.

How much of a positive effect might I expect this information to have on my current credit scores?

Do you mean someone with a cc is adding you as a user? If not, and this is a new acct that had a cosigner on it, it should automatically report.

Obviously, as long as it is a positive acct with no lates, it will help. How much is impossible to say. The older the account is, the more it will help. The bigger the line of credit and the lower the usage will also help.

How much, as I said, is impossible to know, but it will help.

    LKH,

Yes, the account was opened three, almost 4 months ago and I am being added on.

Payments have been on time and the card is currently carying half it's balance limit.

It should be interesting to see what happens!
