Has anyone ever done this? I have asked 3 times to have this info listed because I know that it will add a few points. They ignore my requests. Any ideas, or do you guys think I should just forget it??

No, don't forget it, make them do their damn jobs. tomorrow will be 3 weeks since I personally walked in to the experian affiliate here with the personal info page of my report. I made the appropriate changes and asked them to update it. They haven't done aq damn thing. They don't have my d.o.b. right, they have 3 different spellings of a street I lived at 7 years ago. They still have an address from 18 years ago that I said I knew nothing about. They are just refusing to correct it. They know I will sue them, I've done it before. They say they have to investigate it. With who? Who would know better than ME? Idiots.

I'm sorry to hear that LKH. Do you know if there is a time limit for personal info like other info?

I wonder how some of these things get reported anyway. My husband and I both have our driver's license numbers on our report. And anyone who sees my credit report gets my unlisted phone number...

It would be nice to have some privacy!

How will an address change affect your credit rating.

I think it would only affect your rating on a manual review. i.e. if someone sees you have moved several times in a shot amount of time, that does not look as good as someone who has lived in the same residence for years and years.

Actually, you get points for having lived at the same residence for a growing number of years. This came from a chart that someone posted a link to last summer. I think Marie posted it when she was sharing info with us about scoring.

If it was someone other than Marie, sorry :)

In my case, I have lived here over 5 years and there are a few points I should be receiving for that!

I found the link. Hope this works. I should get 15 points for 5 years:

According to this chart, having 1 recent inquiry (assuming this means past 6 months ) gives you more points than having zero inquiries. [ zero inq's=3pts / 1 inq=11pts ] However, when I pulled my report, one of the reasons listed for my score not beng higher was "too many inquries within past 6 months", it goes on to say (not word for word) that even having 1 inquiry on your report within the last 6 months may show you're a higher risk, someone who is taking on more credit.

So.... the question is: Which statement/chart is correct, the CRA's statement or the Fair Isaac chart?

I don't think either one is.

One thing They don't take into consideration is that a change of address doesn't necessarily reflect a change of residence!!!

I just called and had them Experian changed my address. She did it while I was on the phone. I checked CE while she was doing it and it reflected under investigation. The next day everything was correct.

I told her I was in the military-may had something to do with it- and there was no way I could have lived in those places.

she knocekd them off without much ado, perhaps its the CS rep you get who can make the difference, who knows.....

As for the since then i do not think the CRA have anything to do with that-it may be part of the internal scoring of the creditor.

I always put 5 years + on my apps
