I just read something in a post about NY only allowing states to report history for 5 years. Upon doing research, I noticed that NY has their own FCRA that provides other benefits not just relating to SOL that is usually the limit of what I see regarding state-level laws. I know that many of the long-time CN members are in Florida; can any of you tell me whether Florida has their own FCRA version that might also aid in disputes? Thank you in advance, -Rusten
Florida has laws that mirror much of the FDCPA and grants some extra protection. They can be found here. Chapter 559 Part VI. The one nice thing about the statutes, even though they cover much of the same abusive collection practices as the FDCPA, Florida's statutes also include OCs. Gib
