Does anyone have an address for the Capital One secured card? My printer isn't working for me to print the an Application. When I just called to request application an automated recording asked me to enter my SSN. I only want an app to compare products/secured credit cards, not to give them an invitation to pull my credit report until *I* say they can, so I hung up. I've never been a customer, but I'll probably get a card. I called for an American Pacific Bank/AOL application, too, and although the call was automated they did not ask for my SSN just my address. TIA This is the first of many questions I'll ask on my post bk journey.
I tried to get one a while back and I was told they they are no longer accepting applications for that program. I may be wrong but, I will moniter this posting to find out. I still may be interested. Also, you may want to try to go to lendingtree.com they have a selection for credit cards on the left hand side you can fill out the application and they will run your credit once. They come back with four credit card companies that are willing to give you a card. I got an unsecured from First Premier. I paid up the rear for it but, $200. is a fair price to pay for a positive on my credit. Note: uncheck the box at the bottom that will enroll you in a "free" program. Good Luck!
Thank you for your reply. As I said I checked their "secured cc" part of their website (which not on their main website btw, and called the phone number that was listed. I know many creditors want you to enter your SSN as part your "personal id" but they're not my creditor - yet, and perhaps never. I only want to limit unnecessary inquiries on my credit reports. And also btw I DO have a BOA card (never activated) that must have escaped my credit card cutting up party after I filed C7 bk because my ex refused to split the marital debt that was mainly his. Coincidentally, I did get this from Lendingtree.com in April 2001 when I was exploring options to refinance my *Extremely High* first and second mortgage payments. When I input my household income (six months after my hubby left me) I got only one reply and that one said that I didn't have enough income to qualify for refinancing. Do I dare activate the card though? I'm "chicken". This is one of my positive tradelines on all three of my CR's even though I have never activated it. Any thoughts, forum readers, on whether I should activate this card?
