Address Verification = Approval?

I recently applied for a new platinum credit card and have received a letter asking for a recent utility bill to verify my address.

Does this mean that I've probably been approved for the card? I called the customer service number after receiving the letter and was told that her screen only showed that they needed an address verification; not whether the acct was approved pending the docs.

My TU (which they pulled) was approx. 730 at time of application.

They DON'T waste time asking for anything if you are DENIED...

I would agree with george. I had to provide First USA with address verification twice. Once for a platinum card and once for a msn titanium. I asked them why they don't have a record of my old verification. they said , sorry different departments.

But I got both in the end though, although they did pull inquiries 4 times from my experian report.

    twice for each account.
