I have some PO BOX questions for those that need to prepare for the war that is ahead of them. I tried to search for this info but did not find anything. What are the advantages to switching everything to a PO BOX? Will this prevent some collection efforts or delay judgments? What if someone registers a PO Box out of state would this throw off creditors and prevent them from suing in the correct county or would this be viewed as fraud? I am happy I found this place. I used to read AOC but I guess that died a long time ago what happened?
Just from personal experience, I would recommend trying everything you can to keep your credit cards current and paid. If I had one thing in life to do over again, it would be just that. You don't understand what you are in for. Make some sacrifices and try your best to pay what you owe.
I agree with Shamrock. . .make sure you are doing EVERYTHING you can to stay current. I know a lot of friends that just give up, saying that they just can't do it. . .but I also see them buying a $4 coffee at Starbucks every single day without caring that those coffees add up to $120 a month. If you are honestly so far behind that you just can't do it, for real, I think your best bet would be to look into a good bankruptcy attorney. Getting a PO Box is kind of laughable if you think that it's going to help in any way, shape, or form.
I don't disagree with whats been said. I do think these are interesting questions regardless. Especially the last two.
To answer White's question about AoC: server meltdown, basically, and by the time they could bring it back, the owners and mods had wandered off to other things.
Wouldnt the big advantage be that your address stays the same? I've moved from a few places around town but I've had the same PO Box since I got out of high school
