The CA Sherman Ac. just reported on all 3 CB a re-aged 5 1/2 year old unpaid Sears account. The CA is not licensed to collect debt in my State.

I just send the DV to Sherman yesterday, but I want to figure out a plan to kill both tradelines, the OC and the CA. Sears is such a pain in the A$$!

    Anyone have any good ideas?

Thanks in advance and happy new year to everyone!

is the original account showing in addition to the Sherman account? did sherman purchase the account or was it assigned?

I know you want to deal with both but do check the legalities of the CA statewise, ok? :)

Sherman purchased the account, and Sherman "is Not" legally licensed to collect debts in my State.

Understand that Sherman has not contacted me in anyway. I would imagine that Sherman will be sending me a collection letter just as soon as they get my request for DV. At which point Sherman is toast......I was just thinking or wondering if there might be a creative way to get rid of the sears tradeline.

Sherman has this on your CRA? That's collection activity...and if they aren't legal..good to go...
    Good luck on Sears!

Creditdog, e-mail me at Flyingifr@yahoo.com. I have already successfully collected my $1000 from Sherman for just this viollation. I will give you names, addresses, e-mails and who to talk to at Sherman for you to get your $1000 also. I'm not talking about minimum wage clerks, I am talking about Sherman's Corporate Counsel and CEO.

Sherman seems to re-age every account they buy. How the hell can they stay in business if everyone who got re-aged sued them and collected the $1000?

because for every $1000 they pay out, there are five people who just pay their bill.

AND depending on the state/insurance regulations it may not be paid by the company at all, but rather their insurance company.

    Update:

So far no word from Sherman, 30 day clock is still ticking.

But I have an interesting response from Sears:

"We are in receipt of your inquiry disputing/questioning information reported by us to the credit bureau. Before we can investigate this matter, we require the following information:

    1. Complete Account Number in Dispute

Please contact us at your earliest convenience at 1-800-917-7700 to assist us in resolving this matter

    sincerely
    credit services"

Hmmmmmm........I gave them all the info on the eqifax report just as it is, and they have my SS#. Hmmmm......If they don't know what the account number is? HOW SHOULD I KNOW? maybe there is some way I can use this to kill this tradeline/ account for good? Maybe with that I could also speed up the removal of the Sherman tradelines?

    Any ideas anyone?

But if you were to dispute it with the CRA I bet Sears would find your account fast enough - certainly within 30 days.

REQUESTING "MORE" THAN WHAT THE CRA REPORTS ON THEIR CREDIT REPORT IS FRIVOLOUS

If they (CRA) can't get it for you and you don't have it...MAYBE YOU BETTER REMOVE IT BEFORE YOU WASTE TOO MUCH TIME...

Re: Re: Re: Re: advice for 2 birds with 1 stone?

ok...so I could maybe fax some sort of demand to sears to remove this right now? Since they don't know the account number? (in the interest speed and time).

Or I could wait as if nothing has happened at all and send 2nd request for validation?

Or I could come up with some kind of ITS letter that I could fax or CCCR them with?

    Or I could ?

    Thanks in advance

The other thing I thought about was to go ahead and give them a number, as in JUST MAKE ONE UP. And then when they can't find it, jump em again.

    LOLOL

1*How would you know the account number of an account you don't have?
    The DAs.
2*You don't and even if you did you still wouldn't want to give it to them so they could hang you with it.
