I am a few months past due with both Household and Elan financial. I initially hired a debt negotiation firm to try and settle these accounts for .40 - .50 cents on the dollar, however when I was only 90 days past due, Household referred me to an attorney. Elan would not deal with us as well.

I am NOT employed and have NO assets in my name..although I am married. They are all unsecured accounts.

I am just wondering if anyone has dealt with either of these companies before and if so, what did you do?

I am contemplating bankruptcy, but would rather hold off, but there is NO WAY I can get caught up with these accounts..and definitely NOT pay them in full!

    Thanks in advance.
