Would like some advice on how to settle our credit card accounts ..
~recommend hiring lawyer, financial coach, or self negotiation??
    ~verbal and written ..written only?
~Department or person to communicate to?
What if current on some accounts but behind on the others?
    Time frame for negotiation...?

-Do it yourself, with the help of others who participate in this forum
    -Keep it all in writing
-Who you talk to will depend on who you're dealing with at the time, so come here and ask when you need guidance
-Work on those accounts that you're behind on and are already in collections. Of course, if you can stay current on the others, than keep it that way
-Don't be in a hurry...it could take awhile, so be patient

thank u ..sample settlement letter request

Appreciate your insight, thank you soooo much.
Would you be able to provide a sample letter to recommend for the initial correspondence.... one that would be appropiate for a card in collections and one for an account that is current?

    Donner-

On the main Credit Talk Forum page there is a link to SAMPLE LETTERS (It goes Credit Talk, then General Lounge, then Sample Letters is next.). There you will find guidance on how/when to use which type of letter.

    Good luck!

The best letter is simple, and one you write yourself. When you use letters you find on the internet, the recipient has seen it many times and knows it's just something you copy. It may lose its effectiveness.
