    Hello,

So I believe that I have a debt with a bank for a credit card, which would be validated if I was ever sued. It's bringing my credit score down a lot as it's been sent to a third-party collection agency. The OC (Capital One) still owns the debt. I spoke with the CA today, and he said his company was losing money holding onto my debt. He stated that he was going to tell the OC that I am refusing to pay leading to likely legal action and then hung up on me.

I want this debt off my credit report. Should I just stonewall the CA until they send the debt back to OC and then try to deal with the OC directly for a PFD arrangement? The OC, currently, will not speak to me directly.

What type of PFD arrangement is there with a collection agency?

I just want my credit score improved.

    Thanks

PFD agreements with a CA are possible, but they won't agree to it without a fight. From what I've heard, some may never agree to it. It all depends on the situation and who you're dealing with.

I would continue negotiations with the CA and limit my communication to writing. It sounds like they haven't validated the debt for you yet?
