I have a charged off cc that a Ca now has. The balance that they are asking for is more that the charge off amount and is still growing.

Here is what has transpired so far:
    1. CA sent a bill
    2. I sent a validation letter
    3. ...no response in over 45 days
    4. I sent a 2nd validation/modified estoppel letter
    5. CA sent another letter, asking for 50% of the new balance (more interest has been tacked on)
    6. WHAT DO I DO NOW?

The CA is not on my reports.

From what I understand, I have them on one violation:
    1. FDCPA-Continuing collection efforts despite nonfulfillment of validation request

-On EXP it says on the OC listing that the account was purchased by another lender. On the CA letter, it says that they are an assignee of the OC ("our client is willing to settle for blah blah blah"),
-On EQ, the OC account was deleted pursuant to a dispute, but I never put in a dispute ?!?!?!?!?! Prior to that, it was reporting 'Account Transferred or Sold' with a $0 balance.
-On TU, disputing it got it deleted.

    Advice needed. Thanks.

If it isn't reporting at this time, why not just let it sit. If in the future they do report it, then you've got another violation and can go after them.
