advice on my first chargeoff letter

I have a charge-off on my credit report. I have never been late on anything. Granted, this was the first credit report i pulled in five years. Mistake one... I know.

Turns out this is an account that I co-signed with my ex-fiance (Mistake two) that she decided to quit paying on.

So, being the good man that I am, I sent payment and squared the account. After reading this board, I don't know that that was the smartest move but it is done. There is no record of the CA on my credit report except for some inquiries. I am left with the Household bank charge-off on my account.

From what I have read, it sounds like I should go with the nutcase letter, certified mail, and notarized to attempt to remove the negative entry from all three CRA.

Anyone have any input? And would I mail this to the Household Bank payment address?

    Thanks!

EDIT: And if I do send it to the Household bank payment address, do i send it to the processing center in the state the account was opened in, or the state i am in now?

thanks for all the great posts and community support. This site is a true asset to those trying to get on the right path to financial freedom.

I am sending a slightly modified nutcase/pd chargeoff letter, notarized and certified mail to the OC along with a copy of license and my utility of choice.

Thanks again and I shall keep reading!
