I sent dispute letters to the big 3 last week for DH (havent gotten the green cards back yet) and just noticed that I put the wrong SS# on each one (a lovely combination of mine and his) ARRRRRGGGGHHH, I can't believe I did that. Do you think the disputes will still go through or what will they do with a letter supplying the wrong SS#. Should I have DH call when I get the green cards back or will that be new information and an extention of the 30 days? Thanks for any help.
UGGGHHHHHHH no! I spent soooo much time preparing these first letters and my operation of attack and now I have screwed it up haven't I ??
Never experienced this, but you might keep track at usps.com, and as soon as they receive it, maybe call them and tell them what you did, and see what they say. It might be interesting LOL. The 30 day extension is kinda moot. They either are or aren't going to investigate. IMHO
<<<<slapping forhead repeatedly>>>> I can't believe myself, that is what I get when I try to do these things with a 2 and 4 yr old butting in every 10 seconds with an earth shattering emergency! Do you think calling will help after I get the green cards back? Should I just chalk up this round on disputes as practice and start again next month?? Yikes, hope I don't screw with somone else's file!!
Should I wait for the letter, or just resend tomorrow with an explanation of the first letter. <<<still slapping self in head>>>
It wont matter. Just start over like nothing happened. Make sure to include a copy of you DL and SS card.
and I would most definately send ALL corespondence to ANY credit related entity CMRRR without fail. it may save your a$$ one day...
Re: Re: Advice on my stupidity I am not quite sure why you put such emphasis on it. Christine (from Bayhouse) just faxes everything in. It would seem certified would also be almost as good. While not a bad idea, I don't see where it will "save your a$$".
Re: Re: Advice on my stupidity Christine also gets a fax history printout with every fax she sends and pays a (monthly?) fee to use that service (if I recall correctly). But, if you are into living life in the fast lane... no CMRRR... It all goes back to PsychDoc's Litigous Mindset...
Re: Re: Advice on my stupidity Well since I can't afford another round of CMRRR, I think I will try faxing next time. She uses faxaway.com I think right? thanks
Re: Re: Advice on my stupidity By the way... Faxaway charges 10¢ per minute, $10 deposit, $1 per month maintenance charge.
Re: Re: Advice on my stupidity Thanks, I was just over there checking it out. GRRRR thanks for all your help all, next payday I will start again!!
Re: Re: Advice on my stupidity Best of luck to you. You could try CM without the RRR but I don't recommend it... I do that sometimes for personal stuff that I want to make sure it got there but don't really anticipate needing to PROVE it got there and was signed for by a person, etc. If you are still interested in faxing to save money it may be easier to go to Staples/Office Depot/Office Max, etc and use their fax machine as a one-time deal I was not aware that the big 3 still accepted fax disputes anyway????
Re: Re: Advice on my stupidity Experian won't accept faxes, at least not "officially". Equifax encourages it and Transunion will accept them if you can find their fax number. If you want to amuse yourself, call Experian one day and ask them for their fax number. They will tell you they don't have a fax machine. LOL
Re: Re: Advice on my stupidity There are fax #'s on the FAQ thread, are they no good or not for disputes??
