I was thinking about paying a charge-off, but the condition would be to get the card activated and the line item on credit report set back to paid ontime (all derog removed) Is this CRAZY? to ask?
RE: Advice: Paying chargeoff + You stiffed them, now you want to pay it off, have them "bend" or "break" the law regarding what actually happened, AND give you the card/credit line AGAIN, after you fell short of your obligations the first time around? Sure, you can ask them. But I wouldn't push it as far as to asking for an open credit card again.
