I've had a Citi Platinum Select Mastercard since April of this year. I now see they're offering an intro rate of 0% APR & Balance Transfers; they didn't offer that kind of deal when I opened my account with them in April. Would it be legitimate to ask them to give me that deal now on my existing account, instead of me applying for a new one to get that rate. I don't need another credit card so I won't apply for a new one, but I do want to figure out a way to get that 0% APR for 9 months, as it would sure be useful through the holidays and beyond. Suggestions?
Major Credit Card Companys will not let you do Balance Transfers between accounts.. I would also doubt it if they would let you have 0% interest on your present balance for 9 months..There are other Companys that are offering 0%, I would suggest doing that and closing out your Citi Bank.. You can not beat having 0% interest.. MBNA has an offer of 0% on Balance Transfers as well as for any new purchases for 9 months..This is an offer that is sent to you.. Your Credit has to be low risk.. MBNA has also got into Instant Decisioning in which you get an instant decision on your application avoiding the usual wait of any where from 14 days and up.. You have to apply though the Telesales Dept.. they take the application over the phone, and then transfer you to a credit analyst who will decision your application with you on the phone.. It saves a lot of the waiting that usually takes place after you apply for a Credit Card..
