Hey, George, I don't know the logic, but I got some Cap One convenience checks in the mail too, and MY rate is much lower. It's not in front of me right now, and I can't remember the rate, but I do remember it was in the single digits to the left of the decimal point. George, you get no respect.

    Hey George,

Do you know where is the logic ???
They know you are working for one of 100 Fortune companies and they know you are rich enough to pay 19.80 % interest rate. :)
Not everyone can pay that interest rate. Only "PREFFERED" cardholders. :)

    George,

I received Preferred Capital One Balance transfer Checks for Capital One Gold Mastercard last week. The rate is 9.9% fixed until 9/2003 plus no fee.

For a company that brags so much about their "largest oracle databases in the world" and information tecnology prowess, it is hard to explain how people who have a <9.9% cash advance rates get checks in the mail with APR's twice the amout in their cardmember agreement. Very Strange.

The CASH ADVANCE CHECK IS ABOUT 3.4 times greater than my 5.90% fixed...
The other BT check is 1.7 times greater than my 5.90% fixed...
