First Resolution out of Seattle is actually owned by someone from Canada. They hide behind P.O. Box 34000 and will not give out their street address or any other info. From what I have been able to learn they might be operating as an UNLICENSED collection agency when trying to collect on charged off paper they bought from Cap 1 and other companies. If this company has contacted you or made any entries on your credit report, call the appropriate state agency in charge of licensing a CA. Ask if First Resolution has the proper credentials. Check with the state because First Resolution refuses to answer any questions. On the likelihood that they are not properly licensed, but are making entries on your credit report, OR re-aging the account like they did mine, OR trying to collect the charged off debt past your state mandated SOL, consider filing a complaint with the state licensing board and request the entry be deleted with prejudice. The more experienced people who read this are invited to comment about whether the CRA should be notified before or after filing the complaint with the state.
Hi, I just posted a long one on this CA today, on my experience with them. I was wondering how your situation has come out with them this far.
