My question is concerning obtaining another Citi credit card. I applied for a card 6/2003 - got the card with a $2400.00 cl. Should I wait to apply for another card, (if so how long?) Second question, should I use the ALREADY A CITI CARD HOLDER application link, or apply using the standard version application?
Even if I got my two Citibank cards with about 10 months time difference, I've heard Citibank are pretty good at giving multiple CCs. Or, you can call them to convert your card to a better one (better APR, better LOC). They already know you have their card, so it will be better to use the "ALREADY A CITI CARD HOLDER" application. Last, but not least - you can also apply for two more things: Checking Plus - works as a personal loan on demand. If you don't have enough money in your regular checking, the checks you send are covered from that account. No charges unless you use it. Ready Credit - the name says it all, you have an installment credit account and you can use it at any time for any reason - cash, checks, transfer to the regular checking or CC. No charges unless you use it. Both of them are listed with the CRAs and build up your score.

I think the limit is two within 60 days. A year or so ago there were a lot of people who got both silver and gold AAdvantage cards, combined them into a different card, waited 60+ days and got another one.
Ok, that sounds good... Like instant credit line increase! so - I have to wait 60 days? after I get the card or from the approval date? and can I combine now with the account number they gave me online, or wait until I get the card in hand? and if I combine the cards like this, will I ever get a credit line increase?
I'm not sure if you can call before you get the card. I think you can. Citi's policy is no more than two applications in 60 days. I'm not sure if it's from approval or application. I don't know about the increase either. Maybe you want to apply for another one (or two) and hold on to them for about 6 months. See if you get automatic increases, then combine if you want.
I think that I like that... I will hold the cards for 6 months, (each card)... see if I get the credit limit increases, on each card.... Then combine them.
