I got this email today. Any of you with a Cobaltcard might want to try it.

    Dear David,

Here at Cobaltcard, we are trying to create the best possible product
for our members. Since you were one of the first people to log on to
http://www.cobaltcard.com and sign up for a Cobaltcard, we want to know
what you think about Cobaltcard. We would appreciate your participation
in a quick survey to help us build the best Cobaltcard we can.

If you complete this survey by May 21st, 2001, we will put an extra $10
on your funded Cobaltcard! It's easy to do...just follow this link
http://zowi5.cobaltcard.com/2.html, take the survey and we will put $10
on your Cobaltcard when we finish running the survey. Please note that
the survey will run for 30 days. If you complete the survey by May 21st,
we will fund your active card with $10 when the survey is over.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Sincerely,

    The Cobaltcard Research Team

So that we can properly identify you, we will also need your Social Security Number.

THIS IS LIKE A "GIFT CARD" OR "GIFT CERTIFICATE"...I CAN IMAGINE SEARS, TARGET, WAL*MART, PENNEYS, MERVYNS, ETC. ASKING FOR A SS# !!!!
    WHAT A JOKE.

I also read you can be DENIED!!!

George, if you can get any lower than me with American Express I'd like to meet you. I was denied for a SECURED Optima when they first started the program after I responded to a mailing they sent me.

They said they denied me because of my tax lien.

I was approved with no problem for a Cobaltcard. Am I sad -- or what, though? I keep it in my wallet because it says "American Express" on it.

Sigh. Usually advertising doesn't work that well on me.

    Identify you with a SS# ?
    They can't use a driver's license # ?

When I went to register to vote...they said SS# please I SAID BUH BYE...
THEY SAID WAIT...WE WILL GIVE YOU A FAKE #...SO WHY DON'T THEY GIVE EVERYBODY A "FAKE" # ?

SAW AN ACCIDENT...before they asked what I saw happen...they said "SS# please"
    I SAID BUH BYE!!!

F.Y.I. ~ MY SS CARD SAYS SOMETHING LIKE "FOR EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL SECURITY USE ONLY...NOT FOR ID"

I applaud you George for not giving out your number.

I never do unless it is 100 percent needed like for job and taxes. (after all that's what it was really meant for)

When are people going to learn to not use this number for ID purposes and use a pin system that can be changed.

Every thing you do is now tracked by that number.

Frightens the @#$#% out of me when I think about it

Since this offer is good through May 21st I thought I'd bump it to the top of the list for people who hadn't seen it.
