What a week. I find out today that an account my dad had with Alltel went unpaid, and neither him nor I had any idea. Seems as though when he cancelled the phone, they did not bother to tell him that there was a $400 cancellation charge. Now, late fees, interest and collection fees I assume have brought it up to $685. I just settled with them for the full amount, in return for deletion. I didn't even find out about it until it my report. Real nice of them, huh? I told them, had they called or sent me somthing, I would have paid it a long time ago and never have had to go through all of this. Anyway, just wondering if anyone has actually had any success in getting Allied Interstate to remove something they said they would. The letter is all great and good, but if they do not remove it, it's worthless. I am not looking to waste anymore time or money, so I am hoping some of you have had positive experiences with Allied once they say they will do something. Besides, I have the name and number of the manager who approved the deal and I told her flat out that if it was not fixed, that I would be looking for her.

I don't need to tell you guys what this did to my score, do I? I might as well have filed BK over a $685 debt. Dropped my score from 702 to 580. Once again FICO scores have proven themselves to me to be idiotic. I know people fresh off BK7 with higher scores, and here I sit with one smallish blemish and a 580 score. What a laugher.

You got teh agrrement to dleete in return for payment in writing? SAVE THAT LETTER, it is NOT worthless. If the CA doesn't delete you have grounds to sue them for Breach of Contract.

Oh boy, did I screw myself over.

The letter simply stated that it was paid in full. When I got it I glanced at it, but never thought to make sure it specifically stated removal or deletion. I know, I'm an idiot, but it's been a tough time, my Dad is in the hospital. Anyway, I call back and the same lady who told me (a manager) that it would be removed is now acting like she never said that. I told them fne, just refund my money and I'll see the OC like I planned on doing in the first place. Now that are acting like they are going to do something, but they are mostly giving me the runaround. I know there isn't much I can do now that I have shot myself in the foot, but any advice would be welcomed. See what happens when you try to be the nice guy and just pay something to get it over with.

Just to let you guys know they marked it on EX as a paid charge off, instead of just a charge off. EQ still says charge off and it never hit TU, thank god. At least I still have one decent report.

Boy, the credit cards I have are going to really screw me when they figure this out.

Do your states laws allow for recording of phone calls without notice to the other party? If so, I would talk to her once more and follow it up with a letter. I would tell her that you recorded the phone call where she said she'd delete it and if they don't, your atty will be filing suit on your behalf for her breach. But make sure it is allowable first.

I work for Allied Interstate, and let me say this: their word is about as trustworthy as a politician sitting at a desk saying he knows nothing about "that intern" while he's got a big goofy grin on his face and you see the backside of some high heel shoes poking out the front of the desk. Get my drift?

I hear ya, chuckd. Anything you can do for me? :) I love it how everytime I call they treat me like a criminal. They love to tell me how I should have just paid my bills. I get a kick out of that. As soon as I find out about it I let them nail my CC $700, and they think I don't have money or pay bills. They really need to get a clue. Like I said, had I known about it, it never would have gotten this far. This is the first and only derog I have ever had. Do you know a Tanesha? She is the one at least trying to help me out. She is very nice, about the only person there so far who was willing to at least listen since I was screwed by a person that will remain nameless because well, I am just not like that.

Dude I wish I could help you out, but I work in their Discover card unit. Besides, as I write this, I only have 45 minutes left working for this company. I start a new job tomorrow, and I am more excited than you can imagine. Working here is like working in hell, for the devil himself. Go over the creditinfocenter.com discussion board and lookup some of my older posts and you'll see what I've had to endure while working here.

I don't know Tanesha, as Allied has like 9 different regions and something like over 20 offices. I can give you this though:

    Corporate Headquarters:

    IntelliRisk Management Corp
    3000 Corporate Exchange Dr
    Columbus, OH 43231

    CEO Nick Petrini
    npetrini@irmc.com

    Good luck!

Thanks chuck! You think writing an e-mail to the CEO and explaining to him what happened might be worth a shot?

    Thanks again.
