OK, I know this has probably been answered a 1000 times but got to ask, I did business with Cingular Wireless in the past and I quit paying the bill, after the kept cutting me off, so they reportewd me to this Collection Agency and my total is for 640.86 well above what I owe, wandering what I should do, should I settle the account or just not worry about it because I dont see me needing a cell phone that bad.
Well if you owe the money, pay the money. If you dispute some of the calls talk to cingular and see what they can do.
Well if you ignore it, you get a not-so-nice collections notation on your report. I'm going to assume here that you've ignored several attempts to collect by cingular. So I would suggest you have AlliedInterstate prove the amounts they claim you owe...get them to reduce it, and have them agree that you'll pay the amount as long as they don't report it to the CRAs. Basically, if you owe the money, you should pay it (just not more than you owe).
