Is it a CO??? (charge off)
When did it go into collections?
what is the sol for your state?
    Have you already disputed it??

I'm no expert.. but in the past 3 mos I know a collection is a collection..at this point paid collection is just as bad as collection do not let them make you think it will be settled as in removed if you pay it ..that has to be nego. and gotten in writing before you even think about paying them .05

The SOL for Texas on open-end accts (credit cards) is 4 years - not 7. They can report to the CRAs for seven years.

So why pay what you don't owe?
