I need an opinion. I am going to have to file bankruptcy. This is not something I wanted to do; itâ??s a long story, but feel I have no other choice. The last 1½-2 years have been very hard, major illness, medical expenses, and the loss of a large part of our income. I want to try to keep our home and donâ??t plan to include it in the bk. During this time we have, for the most part kept up on our mortgage payments, a few late payments and we had to ask the bank for help with taxes. But we managed to keep up. Our loan is renewed every three years and a few months back they sent us a letter saying that in order for them to continue financing us we could not miss another payment. We are due to re-finance in November. Well, we are behind one payment. We will be able to catch up in the next month and a half but I am afraid the bank will now refuse to carry our loan and foreclose or force us to sell or to find other financing. Is there any chance I would be able to find other financing that close to a bk? Could anyone recommend someone? We owe around $63,000 on the house. With property values changing Iâ??m not sure of the current value but it is worth at least that much. Thanks
