Maybe I'm dumb, but I don't understand. I've posted before how I attempted the BDD and my report got pulled 4 times, resulting in 4 cards. I didn't know this until I got the letters from Citi welcoming me for my new accounts. So I combined them into the Select Platinum. Today I get an update from Equifax and it shows 4 Citi accounts - 3 opened and closed the same month. That's not gonna look pretty for my average age of accounts. I thought I had to activate the cards in order for them to show up on my report. I didn't activate those 3 - unless activating them included combining them?? I'm feeling seriously dense here - I'm thrilled with the high credit limit I received, but between socking me for 4 inquiries and refusing to remove 3 of them and then having 4 accounts opened by them and 3 of them closed in the same month, I think my reports are gonna all take a major, nasty hit due to this transaction. I was gonna get my Equifax score but I have a few disputes out right now that aren't due until next week so I'm waiting 'til then to make good use of my $12.95. =-) No word on Citi from Experian or TU yet. Is this how it happened for everyone who did the BDD? 2 accounts opened and then 1 closed on your report? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Ozzy.
Yes, that was how it happened with us. I too thought the other card had to be activated to be reported, but apparently not. All in all though, had we known when we originally applied that we'd end up with 2 separate inquiries, a 2nd account reporting nothing, and a new $17,500 CL we'd still do it again in a heartbeat! For us it's the same as our business being a little "too busy" - these are the kinds of problems we LIKE to have. nquisitive
Thanks George and Ender.. I'll give that a try. I faxed a letter to Citi today to try to get some of those inquiries off my report......... Ozzy.
I applied for and got a Citi Platinum Select and an AA Gold card. I kept the Platinum Select and converted the AA Gold to a Dividend Platinum Select. I didn't convert the AA Gold until after I activated and received it in the mail so I they did actually send me three cards. They never reported the AA Gold, just the two Platinum Selects.
