Ok, three items here folks.. 1. I got my Green Card back from a CRR letter that I sent to a CA (the infamous nutcase letter)- regarding a paid collection (I paid the original creditor, without ever talking to the CA, yet they note paid collection on my CR). I used the online send letter version at USPS.com and it worked fine. Haven't heard from the CA yet, they'll probably send me some computer printout 2. I am about to come out of the "cloud of 1995". The majority of my derogs will be 7 years old between August and January. I talked to a lady at Equifax and she said the items will fall of on the anniverary date (no luck getting them to come off early). My concern is that these deletions won't really help my score. They are all paid off, so I don't know if my score will improve that much with them being gone... 3. How's this for a slap in the face.. I paid off my wife's car loan (last 2 payments) via a check by phone back early May. I felt great, 2 cars, both in good shape, both owned free and clear! In early June, I get a "Intent to Reposs" letter because of non-payment of the loan. Call them up, the guy says -- oh they must have copied your check numbers down wrong (my bank had already verified that they hadn't received anything from this company). I tell him, fine - let's double check the numbers and run it through again. I specifically ask him -- THIS WAS YOUR COMPANIES MISTAKE, and NO LATE PAYMENTS WILL BE SHOWN ON MY CR, right. He says, OF COURSE -- no problem. So imagine my surprise on Saturday when I get a CreditWatch alert, saying that the loan was changed to I2 (Pays 30 to 60 days late)..BUT THERE IS A ZERO BALANCE SHOWING. Of course I call the guy back and get his voicemail...Can't wait for him to call me back! "First the Fat Boys break up, and now this!" As always...
LOL W'happen Huricane? I am happy for you about #2! That will be some party! #1 I would say you are right on, I imagine they will send some BS printout...but that is the CA style. and #3...I would HATE to be this guy Good Luck man. Let us know what happens with these things...relax a bit until then...soon come. -Peace, Dave
Dave -- the grocery store by my house started selling Red Stripe And I always have access to my bottle of Overproof Rum! So no worries over here! Or in my native tounge: Chuh man, mi na bodder wit dem, a pure foolishness dem a talk!
A pure foolishness dem a talk! That's for sure!! Does the grocery store next door have any blood wine for the bamboo root? I am there February. I will bring ya back some Appleton Estate. Hey BTW (and OT) is that XO news a blessing for your company or a non effect? Hope all is well for biz and family. -Peace, Dave
hurricane, On your question #2, when our last derog came off of EQ last month, there was a 20 point jump, even though it was a fully paid chargeoff. There was a lot bigger impact from the last one than from anything else. It also came off a few months early. If you want to try to speed things up a bit, you might try disputing something inaccurate on a couple of the derogs that are set to fall off in 3-4 months. Sometimes EQ will verify but go ahead and drop them anyway if the dates are close. nquisitive
Dave - Montgomery County Liquor stores (they are run by the county and only sell hard liquor) actually carry Appleton (but they don't carry RJ Wray & Nephew Overproof White Rum :-( PG County liquor stores do though I am so jealous about your trip though -- my wife is begging me to go back...maybe next year. Seriously, as far as XO -- it's really a non event for me. The consulting biz is so slow right now because most companies are not trying to bring in outside help (especially since they are laying off a lot of their permanent staff) -- instead of replacing that staff with contractors, they just eliminate the function totally. My company is still plugging along, but I'm trying to use my inside contacts to find a full time position (before the 16,000 that Worldcom is about to lay off hit the open market). We'll still consult on the side, but right now, I can't put all my eggs in that basket. but hey...you know the drill Family is great, hope the same for yours
N, what were the other score bumps like? 20 points sound great, but if the others were like 10 points -- I'll be in the 670-700 range (I hope) .. I have 3 judgements and a couple of paid charge offs that are going to go bye-bye! I'll see how the August removals affect my score, then try your method in Sept. Thanks!
