I just got a pre-approval from Capital One for the Kmart Gold card. I have the regular one with a limit of 400/500. I'm wondering if I really am pre-approved or if I'll just get denied if I apply. It says minimum CL is $500 up to $6000. I think they pull all three reports, right? My scores range from about 550-700 with pretty much everything negative in dispute right now.

There is no guarantee, but it looks like with your scores you will be approved, I have had 3 cap-1 mail offerings, have gotten all 3 cards.

Which makes me ask a question, does anyone on here have a BIG CL with Cap 1? I've seen many postings from people with $15-20k limits from Citi, Chase, etc. but I haven't seen anyone (that I remember) mention a high CL with C1.

    Anyone?

I think CAPITAL ONE is $20,000 MAX...

NOT positive since I'm NOT good enough for a card...

You've got a higher score than I do and they won't approve you? That's bizarre. Granted, I had to sit through a year of purgatory with their delightful $200 CL "gold" card but they jacked me to $2000 after that.

On the other hand, they subsequently sent me a "pre-approved" Platinum and when I said yes, they gave me a whopping $500 credit line. I got out the scissors......

Come to think of it, they also sent me those convenience checks for 2 months: no transfer fee, 9.9%. I didn't use them. Today in the mail, I get more convenience checks but these are just like taking a cash advance on the card. If I didn't use the ones at 9.9%, why would I use these at 19.9% with a 3% transaction fee?

I have a CapOne with a 7K limit... it's the lowest of all the credit cards I have.. I think they are very conservative with their limits.
