I just applied for the American Express Business Gold Card with a 691 score. My past experience is on business cards they pull from Equifax. I did not get an instant decision but it didn't say my application was declined either. Just said it needed further review. They would be in touch either by telephone or mail within eight business days. Anyone else have this experience? When it is declined does the system usually say declined? If I remember correctly, last time I applied it said declined. I am not certain though. I see American Express has a link to check the status for personal cards.. anyone know if they have a link for business cards?

I would call them. That happened to me and it turns out i was denied. I pretty much called right after I received the same notice you did... usualy that means you were denied (well at least in all of the casses i know of). But don't despair ...when I called I asked them to reconsider and they approved me over the phone.
Im just going under the assumption he was denied as i was initally for my 2 cards when I got that same message.
This did not work for the Business Card application. When I applied several months ago for this same card it said I was declined. It never stated my application needed further processing like it did last night. I will call them tomorrow.
My experience of the online "mystatus" was when approved it said "approved" when it wasn't they posted something like "decisioned - somethings in the mail..."
I never called American Express. I figured I would wait for any mail to come through and it finally did today with an approval letter. Yeah!
