Damn...you'd think that for $1,000 a year, the card would be prestigious looking-- you know? Has anyone read about this card? Apparently, 1% of all AmEx Platinum Cardholders were invited to apply (supposedly "invitation to apply" is an approval with this card) and you are not allowed to apply any other way. Anywho, that sure dimmers the shine of my Gold card...:-( Anyone who wants to read the story or see the card can go to: http://www.nytimes.com/library/financial/personal/120599personal-consumption.html You will have to register, but you do get to see this hideously ugly card....don't get too excited...I can color over a green charge card and get the same look...
