I was going through the threads and it appears that AMEX Secured Optima Card keeps getting offered and then stopped and then offered again. What is the deal here? Will this card ever be offered again.
Not Sure Maybe the card is too much admin work. They don't charge large fees for the card. They charge $25 a year, and give a 3% return on deposits. The interest is Prime plus 8.99% unlike the ungodly rates most secured cards charge. They probably aren't making enough profit. Too bad because it's a good program. I hope to be a life long AMEX customer.
RE: Not Sure Sorry, but it is being discontinued indefinately--at least that is what the info says on my bulletin. But who is to say that they might come out with an entirely new type of secured card. Basically, the current card is gone for good.
