    hello everyone,

I havent visited here much lately, due to my investing ventures. Recently I acquired an American Express card. I was told online that I was going to qualify for the 9% interest card (blue) with a 10,000 limit. So far I have recieved 4 cards, all with this interest rate and credit line or better. Well, low and behold I recieve there card in the mail and it says that I have a 14.9% rate and a 2000 USD line of credit. I was not to happy to say the least. I worked from supervisor to supervisor and department to department for 2 days. Nothing, zilch, notta help at all! I got so frustrated I ended up cancelling the card. I kind of regret it now, because if I would have came here and asked how to get it raised first, I probably would have gotten an answer. My debt to income ratio is well below normal and I have credit scores in the 730s and above on all reports. I have not charged them up and I have an excellent credit history. Other companies are practically falling over me for business and Amercian express wont budge a bit. What is the deal?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Howdy George,

Maybe your right. Perhaps they have singled you and I out from all of their millions of customers. They probably have a personal vendetta to eliminate us from the credit world..LOL..[;-)

How many new accounts have you opened? That could have turned them off.

    KPaul,

That was a problem for me before, but not now. I have only one account that is new (about 6 months old) and the rest are two year and older. I have an outstanding paymnent history over the past ten years, a great debt to income and very little debt.

Dont get me wrong me credit used to look horrible. THis board is how I fixed it!

Come to think of it, I did just buy a house in December. Perhaps that is causing the problem?

New house + new credit card in past six month = credit risk????Hmmmm..
