I got a letter today from american express telling me they will not be reporting to equifax any more.Have anyone heard of this?
Wonder what that means? Would it mean all previous AE tradelines will be deleted off Equifax? IF true I would imagine it all comes down to money. It costs the card companies money to report. Interesting.
BENEFIT~~~HIDDEN CREDIT LINE... So if you have 9.99% BT everything you have >9.99% to it... DOWN SIDE...they would have to ***REMOVE*** it or it would NEVER up-date... ...SAY YOU HAVE IT "FULL" TODAY...THEY DO FINAL UP-DATE (TODAY)...AND YOU PAY IT OFF EVERY MONTH FROM NOW ON...IT WILL BE HELD AGAINST YOU FOR YEARS!!! I disputed mine on EXPERIAN...wanted N/A changed to $15,500~~~THEY REMOVED IT!!! SO MY AMEX BLUE WILL ONLY BE ON TRANS UNION...
It's not reporting on my Equifax either. BTW, what is a DTC inquiry? There's a DTC inquiry from AMEX a couple days ago on my EQ report. Any ideas?
George, are you saying they are only reporting to TU? Just trying to figure this out. I would love to hide my Big Blue!
Was removed from EXPERIAN (never returned)...if EQUIFAX quits reporting...it will ONLY show up on TRANS UNION.
This is a VERY IMPORTANT THREAD!!! We need to find out what the real situation is with American Express reporting to the CRA's I had two negative AMEX accounts mysteriously drop off Exp and TU last month! I was totally stunned!!! I had not yet disputed these accounts because I kept hearing again and again these are about impossible to get removed. I keep expecting to see these two accounts reappear as quick as they disappeared. But I have read many posts from people who have had AMEX accts disappear recently. Some people have said AMEX is updating their software and these accounts will be re-reported to the CRAs at some point in the near future. I don't know who or what to believe.
The ACCOUNT numbers were re-done (on the credit reports) so they are NOT anything like your "REAL" account numbers... Some people had their accounts disappear and then reappear with the NEW weird #'s
I forgot to mention that a couple of months after AMEX dropped off my credit reports.....they sent me a letter saying they promised to get back with me shortly regarding an inquiry I had made. I never at any time sent them such a letter of any kind. I never disputed my accounts with them or sent them a single piece of correspondence. It was very strange when that letter showed up in the mailbox. I have heard that if you dispute any personal info on your credit report (address, employer, etc,) they are required to do an automatic investigation of one account on your report. I don't know if this had anything to do with it. Has anyone out there had an AMEX account disappear and then reappear months later?
