Has anyone with a 600 or lower FICO been approved for the Optima card or whichever is the easist AM EX card to get? I don't know my score on Experian (I hope they only use Experian still), but I have 3 derogs that are each over 2 years old, so I figure about 600. One is a chargeoff, other 2 entries are various late payments. I am also on round 2 with Junum. Maybe the three disputed items won't show up, and I will get lucky! Thanks for any help. MikeB
Yes. It is possible but you must speak with a real person at AMEX - the computer will deny automatically via FICO - then a Centurion Bank Acct Mgr will pull it and look at it individually. Good luck - FYI - you must not owe any past due balance to AMEX - ever. c ya dogman I got the Personal (Green) Card.
fyi, i just got turned down for the green card, they used trans union and i live in california. i thought the green card was the easiest to get. i asked for a secured card and they said they dont offer it anymore as of july of last year. major bummer!
Sorry to hear that LO. People need to remember that it is possible to get a Green Card with even a Chap 13 on your credit record. BUT - regardless, AMEX is easy to get with no negatives at all - but is still the HARDEST CARD to qualify for - with any derogatory information. Wait 6 months - pay on 2 other visas/mcsthen try again.
Need some help here. Just applied for the green amex card online and got the we will get back to you in 7-10 days message. Ugh. I used to work for Chase. We put up that message when you were declined. Is it possible I still got the card? I have no negatives on my experian and 2 VERY old (95) paid charge-offs on the other two.
Forget it. They pulled Trans Union. (From Philadelphia.) Worthknowing.com is a piece of crap. I have a report with no score!!! A blank image field where it should be. Really nice.
Re: Re: American Express LoFico, sorry to hear that! If you don't mind, could you state the reasons why you think your application was turned down? I'm thinking about applying for AMEX Green but won't if I don't have a chance (I have a ch7 bk discharged 10/98 and about 5 hard inquiries in the last 6 mths). Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks and I wish you better luck next time, MisterX
Re: Re: American Express Leslie...charge offs's in 1995 should be at to the 7 year mark. FYI...Amex usually does a 411 on your employer to see if they are a real business. Keep this in mind if your self employed or using a fake employer.
Re: Re: American Express Do y'all not see that this person is not even a member anymore??? LOL!!!! I don't think she is going to answer....
Re: Re: Re: American Express Bigmon, this post was from 2 years ago. At the time it was not 7 years yet!
