Through online disputes the past 10 days I achieved the following results: Equifax - 1 deletion (2 more to go) Experian - 2 deletions (2 more to go) This is my question... On July 7th I disputed an Americredit entry from 1995 (written off in 1997) showing on all 3 reports. The PG summary from July 13th showed an entry saying "Account Info disputed by consumer." Today, July 17th, the "Account Info disputed to consumer" entry is gone. Does that mean Americredit has validated the entry OR must I wait the full 30 days to see if it is eventually deleted? Finally, my PG fako from Equifax is 595. How can that be so high with 2 negative entries and 0 positives? Can I assume my fico would also be around 595?
Hi Credit6949, I'm not much help to you as I am in a similiar situation. Our acct with Americredit went bad in 1997 and Equifax sent us our dispute back with no changes even though Experian & TU deleted. I can tell you tell that our PG Fako score are relatively high too with 0 positives and to be honest a ton of negs. My highest is 585 and my husbands is 552. Go figure. But when I pulled our FICO scores they were totally different. I'm sorry I'm not much help to you, but I do feel your frustration.
Credit6949, I meant to tell ya to look at my thread under mommyof3. I don't know how to set up links yet. I'm am pretty computer illiterate. This is my first chat room. LOL Anyways, jam327 and rondaben gave me some great advice. Check it out. Take care and God bless.
Welcome to this great forum! If you're curious about your FICO compared to you FAKO, you can always pay to pull it through FICO.COM. If you do a search here you can find a discount code to use for a cheaper price. We've talked here that some are higher and some are lower with no correlation. But frankly, it's not personally important to me to know my exact FICO until I'm about to apply for credit, especially big credit like house/car. You FAKO can at least show you the direction you're headed. My scores are 550 - 585, so please take this in the polite way it's meant but 595 is NOT that high of a score, though itâ??s higher than mine (grin). On Privacy Guard (PG) it would fall in the range of Poor. Granted it's not in the VERY POOR Range (been there done that), but you're still not looking at decent rates yet. To learn how to make links and all that, just click on the link that says "Message: You can use vB code in your message" that appears to the left of the window when you reply or make a new post. It's a good tutorial. There's also a place here to practice your posts click here so others don't read them when you're just linking or practicing changing font color .
Thanks for the feedback. I'm still interested in comments anyone has on my question above about the "Account disputed by consumer" remark which I initially saw on my report when disputing 10 days ago but it is now gone.
Thanks for your comments everybody. FAKO is 595. Even with my only 2 negative TLs as I described above, my Equifax fico is 629 which is probably due to the fact Americredit is so old. Maybe I will leave well enough alone and focus on beefing up the score with new accounts.
You said in your earlier post that the account was written off in 1997....it is possible that it has fallen off because the 7 yr reporting period has run out
I thought it was written of in early 1997 but actually it turned out to be 10/97. I'll keep a low profile until then and start disputing again with EX and EQ. TU removed the entry altogether which bumped my fako up to 727 with only having one inactive positive account from the mid-80's. I'll have the actual TU fico tomorrow.
