Okay, I'm going to apply for 2 Amex products today. Really need input here as I am really nervous. My bk-13 fell off last month and I've been waiting for my scores to come up a bit. This is what I have from MyFICO.com TU 730 2 inq EXP 735 3 inq EQ 706 2 inq I would like to apply for the Gold as oppose to the the Green. Just wanted to know what my chances are. Are the requirements for the Gold tougher than the Green? Also I will be applying for the Blue. Can I apply for this at the same time as the Green/Gold application? Any advice?
Call NEW ACCOUNTS and ask "IF" you can apply with the same INQUIRY for 2 accounts on the same call... 1-800-962-7227 You could do it ON-LINE then call the CRA they pull and say they were DUPLICATE...2 inquires in the same 30 days are DUPLICATE and they will remove one NO QUESTIONS ASKED... YMMV
George, thanks for the advice. I did call and the rep said he can only take one app at a time. If I wanted to apply for another product I must call again. I will work on the CRA dispute. I did try this when MBNA pulled two inq on the same day. Came back founded. Best regards, Mirage
founded??? They are considered DUPLICATE by the CRA...even "IF" you did apply for two separate products...

gold is NO better than green, UNLESS you use BestValueGuarantee frequently. Unless 1.You want it for status, I.E. you have arrived credit wise 2.You use gold card events (very possible) 3.You use the free shipping and handling they provide just makes sure you get the prefferred versions so that you can transfer the points 1 to 1 into a FF program, and tell them your friend got it fee free for the first year and could you get that offer as well? (it worked for me, fee free gold for first year)
