Amex approved

    Yesterday eq fico went over 700 for the first time so I applied for amex green. (I dont need anymore credit only wanted a charge card). Was given the old wait 7-10 days screen. Today the phone system says Im approved. This is proof amex blacklist does not follow you forever as I had two paid c/os with them in the early 90s.

    Great News! Congratulations Eddie. (i've been following your lead. I got the HiltonHonors card when you said Citi blacklisted you, they did me too)

    I think the blacklist only applies if you have NOT paid them and owe them money. Why do you think people on this board (including the ones that BK'd on Am/Ex at some point) are trying to repay them? In hopes of getting a card again. It's been done several times on this board.

    Terrific Eddie! and you did great with the AMEX LOCs!
    That may have automatically qualified you.

    Very interesting additional info about the "blacklist."
    Again, this proves AMEX will allow consideration to PAID past c /os. I never thought I would possess a Green Card with a 4 yr old Chap 13 - but I do!

    STILL, we know that anyone who stiffs AMEX can never get another Card - until the prior balance is paid. In most cases, they will make you wait a year B4 you can apply and get approved.

    Your past credit issues are behind you now buddy!

    This time, you will appreciate AMEX from a completely
    different perspective. Wonderful service, prestige,
    worldwide convenience, respect - everything! Make sure you pay the extra $40 and get the Membership Rewards - its worth it!

    Hey Dog!!

    He said he paid them though???? They weren't unpaid so I guess it's safe to assume that you have yet to see someone get an Am/Ex card that still owed them money.

    How's the weather up there in 'Tha Sco' (that's what we call it down here)? It's been an oven down here the past 3 days. Never thought I would be running fans in October.

    Hey - thats the great thing about EDIT!
    I reread it and saw they were paid.
    MP - you are one of the PRIVILEGED FEW who was able to experience my first, original post.... LOL!

    Fog rolled in yesterday!
    I work downtown SF and it was 80 - when I drove up the hill to Twin Peaks, my temp was 59 and I lit a fire. SEVERE FOG - which is 50% of the year up here :)

    FYI - as a matter of fact, I ordered a new fireplace screen and tool set from eddiebauer.com. Charged to my Spiegel - says the items will be here within 5 days.
